Eden Hazard Insists If Antonio Conte Wants Him To Play Left-Back
Eden Hazard has claimed that he would happily play as a left-back if asked by Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.
In recent big games, Conte has opted to use Hazard in a ‘false nine’ role rather than his preferred position on the left wing.
Prior to the international break, Belgium boss Roberto Martinez insisted that Hazard would not play in a forward position while representing his country.
The player, though, does not seem to mind were he is positioned on the pitch by Conte.
“I just want to be on the pitch. No.9, No.10 – I can play left-back if the manager wants, no problem,” Goal.com quotes Hazard as saying. “I’ll give everything, like I do every time.”
When asked about his future at Stamford Bridge, the midfielder said: “I’m happy with Chelsea. I’m just thinking about the end of the season and the World Cup. I’ve got two years left in my contract.”
